If anyone wants to make me pass out from joy at my bday...these might just do it.

Who Knows Where the Time Goes?
The cherry trees in the yard are popping out fruit, the park is humming with people, and yet I'm totally weirded out that it's almost summer already. Aren't you? Who knows where the time goes? A few things helping me get in the mood:
Yet another embroidery hoop group, this time of huipile fabric that's, as my mom would say, "my thing."

Surf's Up
We seem to live in a world chock-full of effortlessly bikini-clad gals. Why is it just assumed if you are under 45 and/or have not had kids, that you wouldn't be caught dead in a one-piece? When did this happen? Did I miss something? (Possible.) It's enough to make this gal feel as broken as Brian Wilson in his sandbox. I happen to favor the maillot look.
I'm dying to find the perfect one-piece swimsuit. Actually, I kind of did already...
Of course, it's the price: a wee $198. Plus shipping.
So I am trying desperately to lick my wounds and move on in the limited options of the one-piece world. It's just, nothing has grabbed my gut like that ginko-pattern.
Some of the considered replacements follow:
Then we have:
Now for a non-ruffled option:
In conclusion, I still feel unsatisfied and unsettled about this topic. The potentially never-ending quest will continue.

Drifting Along With the Tumbling Tumbleweeds
My burgeoning cacti/succulent obsession continues!
Btw, this kind of fascination must be out there in the ether, because someone done read my mind and had a succulent/desert themed wedding. Check it out right here.

Walk Like An Egyptian
True life fact: I'm still terrified of mummies and other dead rotting things. But those Egyptians did have influential style:

Sailing
Yes, it's yacht rock, and by the way, yes, I also like The Love Boat. Nothing ironic about it.
Dreaming of long, golden days spent on, in or around San Francisco Bay, which my great grandfather called "God's country."

Urchin brooch and ring all the way from Turkey.

I love how this potter mixes plants and animals together in her work.

She also does ships quite beautifully.

Sweet sand dollar pillow.

Even months after first seeing Sarah Elizabeth's work on design*sponge, I still can't get it out of my head.

I've Got Your Picture...
Instead of that picture, look at something new...
This wall hanging is a bit modern for my taste, but I do love a good bird-related wooden bit for the home. Available on etsy here.
Something about baskets on a wall just makes me happy. Reminds me of the Ahwahnee Hotel. This one's also from etsy!
These are dang cheap and good, clean kitschy fun!
Not only am I obsessed with embroidery, but I am also gaga about constellation maps! Put em together and I'm bursting with glee! I literally dream of having all four of these in my bedroom to gaze at while in the gauzy state of falling asleep or waking.
