My grandpa was a construction worker and I remember him coming home after his long days with his beautifully dented lunchbox, similar to the one below, and Stanley thermos, much like the one pictured below that.
For my bf's birthday this past year, I asked my grandma and grandpa to root out the old thermos and give it to my man, and they did! It now sits proudly atop our fridge, but I am hoping he will use it for his new job sooner or later. My grandpa said he ran over it with his truck at least once, but it still survived! They don't make 'em like they used to, that's for sure. It's a little piece of family history in our home.
Awwww these images bring back memories of my Grandpa when he was working and had a thermos just like that and a lunchbox that was silver. Going to see him tomorrow!
ReplyDeletehave fun on your visit! my grandparents have no idea how amazing their "stuff" still is...i love to talk to them about it all and they get a kick out of the fact that i am interested.
